By George W. Sarris
A friend recently sent a copy of my book, Heaven's Doors, to a pastor, speaker and former seminary professor who sent back a 39 page, very negative review assailing both the book and me personally.
Because the Critique was also sent to several other people, I felt it was important to post both the Critique and my Response on my website.
I expected resistance to my book. Belief in eternal punishment is deeply rooted, and people don't change their convictions easily!

25.) At the very end, Deere references John 17:3, and says, “Eternal life is to know God. For three hours Jesus did not know God.” But, Jesus is God!
Jesus in His prayer to God
John 17:3
3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
To know God is to be one with Him.
Jesus knew God and all of who He was. It is evident that Jesus totally lost His oneness with the Father when He cried out " .......... with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?" (Matt 27:46).
Jesus not only died for our sins but He became sin. God totally rejected Him and He was no longer one with the Father.
