It's NOT the Economy . . . Stupid!

Bill Clinton's famous line may work well in politics, but it is wholly inadequate in life!

I am amazed at how the news and entertainment media are totally missing the point about the impact of the scandal in the life of the latest big name philanderer . . . Tiger Woods. The headlines continue to ponder the impact of his indiscretions on his financial empire . . .
"Will his wife divorce him and take hundreds of millions of dollars away with her?"
"Will his sponsors drop him and leave him without endorsement income?"
No matter how you look at it, Tiger Woods is and will remain an extremely wealthy "boy" (I chose that term purposely because he hasn't yet learned what it is to be a "man"!) But, that's NOT the issue. The issue is what has happened to his name and reputation.

Tiger Woods can no longer be respected as an upright, truly strong role model for young men. Tiger Woods can no longer be looked at as someone to emulate as a man of character. He is definitely an exceptional athlete, and he has earned a tremendous amount of money. But, I would never allow any of my four daughters to spend time with him alone in a room. Nor would I let them be alone with Bill Clinton or David Letterman or Elliot Spitzer or Ted Haggert or a host of others who will be forever remembered for their moral failures.

Proverbs 22:1 says,
"A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold."
It's NOT the economy, stupid. It's the NAME!
